Subject in alleged White House UFC Attack plot ordered to remain in custody

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A preliminary hearing was held at the U.S. District Courthouse in Kansas City for Jordan W. Rincker, a St. Joseph man accused of conspiracy to commit murder at the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House on June 14th.

The hearing determined whether Rincker would await his trial in detention or be granted 24/7 surveillance at his home.

During the hearing, prosecutors argued that Rincker allegedly knowingly supplied a weapon and supplies to a "terrorist group" with the intent to commit a mass casualty attack.

They also claimed he participated in providing 3-D printed drone casings, supplies, and a pump-action shotgun to a Nebraska co-conspirator.

Prosecutors further argued that Rinker has a history of incidents with drug paraphernalia and eight prior failures to appear in court, and therefore should not be allowed to serve detention at his home.

Rincker's defense argued that he willingly cooperated with law enforcement investigations and that his past charges were not for violent crimes.

Ultimately, the judge ruled that Rincker will serve detention in a state facility while awaiting his trial.

A trial date has not yet been set.
