Interstate 29 to narrow in Buchanan County for transmission line replacements

File

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation said drivers can expect delays as Interstate 29 is expected to narrow for overnight utility work from July 15-16.

Utility work will impact I-29, just north of the Gene Field Road Bridge to just south of U.S. Route 169 north, starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15.

The work will continue until 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 16.

PAR Electrical Contractors, LLC is working with MoDOT to replace transmission lines across the interstate and motorists should expect delays.

I-29 will be narrowed in both directions, and the contractor will use intermittent rolling closures overnight while crews cut down, remove, and replace the old transmission wire.

All work is weather-permitting and schedules are subject to change.
