St. Joseph Mustangs fall to Clarinda A’s at home

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The St. Joseph Mustangs baseball team lost a tough home game to the Clarinda A's 4-3 on Friday night with MINK League playoff seedings on the line.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning on a 3-run home run from MoWest Griffon Seth Winkler. It was Winkler's first home run of the season.

But then Clarinda rebounded and took the lead in the 8th inning and sealed the defeat for the Mustangs.

St. Joseph drops to 23-15 on the season and 20-14 in conference play. The loss eliminates the Mustangs chances of having one of the top 2 seeds in the MINK League Playoffs. The team will find out who and where they'll play in the MINK League Wild Card round on Monday, July 27th after the weekend concludes. The Mustangs will face either the Chillicothe Mudcats or the North Missouri Nattys.

The Mustangs will have two final home games of the regular season on Saturday, July 25th in a double-header against the Nattys. The first game starts at 4 pm with the second game starting at 7 pm.
