Buchanan County Clerk gives absentee ballot submission update

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Buchanan County Clerk Mary Baack-Garvey provided an update on how many absentee ballots the county has received ahead of the Tuesday, Aug. 4 Primary Election.

Baack-Garvey said, as of about 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, a total of 740 absentee ballots came in at the counter and 540 were mailed in.

Buchanan County polls open for the Aug. 4 Primary Election at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Voters are required to ensure they are prepared with proper identification when heading to vote. Acceptable forms of identification are any government- or state-issued ID.

Voters don't need to bring in their voter identification card, but it can be considered as a second form of identification.
