Chiefs return to ‘Arrowhead Stadium’ name

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- After being known as "GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium," the Home of the Kansas City Chiefs will rebrand and return to its former name.

The Chiefs and G.E.H.A (Government Employees Health Association) announced that the Home of the Chiefs will simply be "Arrowhead Stadium" moving forward to the 2026 season.

Arrowhead Stadium officially became "GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium" at the start of the 2021 NFL season.

"Together with the Chiefs, we made the decision to return the stadium to its iconic Arrowhead identity, honoring the legacy, tradition, and community pride it represents," said Raj Vavilala, G.E.H.A's EVP Growth and Strategy. "We are proud to have been part of this chapter in the stadium's history and to celebrate the return of a name that is synonymous with Chiefs Kingdom. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Chiefs and investing in programs that make a difference in the communities where our members live, work and serve."

While GEHA won't be included in the stadium's name, the association still remains a sponsor of the Chiefs, spearheading numerous programs, including the Chiefs Military Mission, which supports active duty service members, veterans and their families.

The program's year-round initiatives include military base visits, holiday outreach, military appreciation day at training camp and support of the club's annual Salute to Service game.

"G.E.H.A is a tremendous partner and this mutual decision reflects a shared commitment to honoring the rich history of Arrowhead Stadium and the Chiefs organization," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. "We are thrilled to continue working with G.E.H.A on all of the key community, military, and veteran-focused programs that they have helped us bring to life over the years."

In addition to the Chiefs' Military Mission, GEHA will continue to support numerous other club programs, including: Joe Delaney Learn to Swim Program in conjunction with the Hunt Family Foundation and the Greater Kansas City YMCA; the annual TeamSmile dental care and dental education event; the Kingdom Kids program, the free fan club open to children ages 12 and under; and the annual Kingdom Kids Wonderland event at Arrowhead Stadium.
