No injuries reported in Stockyard train derailment

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- No injuries were reported after local law enforcement responded to a report of a train being derailed off its tracks Friday afternoon.

The St. Joseph Police Department told residents and drivers to avoid the area of South 6th and Seneca streets due to a train derailment involving a BNSF train.

The road was shut down until further notice.

Officers told a KQ2 reporter on the scene that there were no injuries and the train had just derailed off its tracks.

In addition, there is no timeline for when the road will be back open.
