MSHP searching for person of interest in double homicide investigation

CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Authorities are searching for an armed man following a double homicide at a rural residence near Route MM and County Road 250 in Carroll County.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office requested the Missouri Rural Major Case Squad to investigate the incident at approximately 11:40 a.m. on August 23.

Investigators have identified Ryan A. Munson, 48, of Carrollton, MO, as a person of interest.

Munson is considered armed and dangerous.

He was last seen driving a black 2017 Ram quad cab with Missouri plate 3YHG01, heading north on US 61 near Hannibal on Sunday afternoon.

Law enforcement says he may be in northeastern Missouri, southeastern Iowa, or western Illinois.

Authorities are urging the public not to approach Munson and to call 911 immediately if seen.
