Tracking a warmer Tuesday and storm chances

Tuesday will bring warmer temperatures and increasing cloud cover before a cold front moves through the area late tonight.

The morning will start cool and comfortable, with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s and a gentle southeast breeze. Conditions will remain dry through the morning, although clouds will gradually increase as the day progresses.

Temperatures will warm into the low to middle 80s around lunchtime before reaching the upper 80s this afternoon. Skies will be partly cloudy, allowing for a mix of sunshine and clouds.

Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase this evening as a cold front moves southeast through the region. The greatest chances will come later tonight into early Wednesday morning.

The area is under a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. The primary concerns are heavier pockets of rain and stronger wind gusts, although most storms are expected to remain below severe limits.

Most areas should begin drying out by Wednesday morning. Despite the cold front, temperatures will remain warm through the rest of the week, with highs in the upper 80s Wednesday, middle 80s Thursday and upper 80s to near 90 degrees possible by the weekend.

Additional rain chances will be possible heading into the weekend.
