President Trump blasts Missouri Supreme Court decision on congressional map ruling

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo (KQTV) -- President Donald Trump has criticized the Missouri Supreme Court for its ruling against the state's redrawn congressional map.

On Thursday, the Missouri Supreme Court ruled that the redrawn map cannot be used in this year's midterm elections.

President Trump blasted Missouri's highest court's ruling on Truth Social.

He called the unanimous decision "Horrible, Ridiculous, and Unconstitutional".

Trump also said that "This is a dark day for justice" in Missouri.

Because of the ruling, the 2022 congressional map will be used during the elections.

The Court did not strike down the new congressional map as unconstitutional itself, but ruled unanimously that the map can't take effect or be used in the November election. The Court said that the group 'People Not Politicians Missouri' had collected enough signatures (more than 300,000) had exercised their right to a veto referendum.

Missouri Secretary of State Denny Hoskins voiced his frustration with the Supreme Court on X.

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway said that she will appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.
