MoWest football captures homecoming victory over Nebraska-Kearney

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The MoWest football team went home happy on Homecoming night with a 31-21 victory over Nebraska-Kearney.

The Griffons scored all four of its touchdowns in the first half. Junior quarterback Isaiah Tate was 20-of-28 for 283 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns along with 1 interception. Freshman Peyton Hatfield led MoWest with 9 catches for 135 yards and 1 touchdown. Junior Malik Moore followed that up with 5 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. Senior Victor Taylor Junior caught MoWest's other touchdown.

Junior running back Rickie Dunn had 107 yards rushing on 25 carries and a rushing touchdown.

Senior defensive back A'Mon Walker picked up an interception on defense for MoWest.

The Griffons improve to 3-3 on the season and hit the road next to play at Pittsburg State on Saturday, October 17th at 2 pm.
