ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Missouri Western football lost back-to-back games for the second time this season with Saturday’s 38-14 loss against Missouri Southern.

The Griffons have lost the last two of their three matchups, falling to 3-5 on the season and 2-4 in the MIAA, dropping to eighth in the conference standings.

Last week, the Tigers held the Griffons offense to 287 total yards, the lowest the Griffons offense has seen since September when they had 270 total yards in their loss against Central Missouri.

Griffons head coach Tyler Fenwick says it’s all about hitting the restart button and looking ahead,

“We've got to fix some things within ourselves. When a game like this happens, you almost kind of have to hit the restart button a little bit and get back to what are the things that are holding us back from having success," Fenwick said.

The Griffons had four total turnovers and 70 yards off of seven penalties in the loss.

The 3-5 Griffons travel to Topeka to face the 5-2-1 Washburn Ichabods on Halloween, kickoff is set for 2:00 P.M.
