Reaction to Prop A being turned down by Missouri voters

KQ2

MISSOURI (KQTV) -- Missouri voters made their decision and have turned down Proposition A, with 62% voting "no."

With this result, Missouri will keep the 2022 map in place instead of switching to the 2025 map, also known as House Bill 1.

The battle over which congressional map the state of Missouri will use has been going on since Governor Mike Kehoe signed House Bill 1 on Sept. 28, 2025. The group, "People Not Politicians," has been fighting for the 2022 map since then.

Richard von Glahn is the executive director for the group and released a statement on their social media after the result.

"This campaign never should have been necessary," von Glahn said. "As we have said since September 2025, people, not politicians, will have the final say. Tonight, we spoke clearly."

Governor Kehoe has been supporting Prop A and released a statement on social media Wednesday afternoon following the results.

"Last night's results here in Missouri and across the nation deserve thoughtful reflection and honest conversations on where we go from here," Kehoe said. "Across our state and nation, the work continues—together."
