ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — An event over two decades old is set to take place at Missouri Western State University Saturday.

The St. Joseph Museums are teaming up with MoWest to present Super Science Saturday.

The event has given children and their families a full day of hands-on learning since 2000.

Super Science Saturday features exciting attractions like the Math Maze, chemistry displays using fire and ice and live animals like snakes and different kinds of bugs.

Leading the charge on behalf of the St. Joseph Museums is its Executive Director, Sara Wilson.

“We are so excited to welcome out a whole bunch of people that are gonna come out and get some hands-on science opportunities,” Wilson said. “We’ll have people as young as fresh newborns coming in to hang out with their parents and learn all about science, to people that are a hundred years old.”

Super Science Saturday used to be held at the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion and was then moved to the St. Joseph Museum on Frederick Avenue.

The program was moved again to where it is today at the Remington/Agenstein Hall on MoWest’s campus.

The event will start at 10 a.m. and go until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.

Tickets are priced at $5 per person, with children 5 and under entering for free. They can be purchased by visiting stjomo.com/event/super-science-saturday-4/.
