SJSD administrator said staff will learn school reorganization placements this week, early next week
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — St. Joseph School District staff will learn their school placements in the coming days, according to a district administrator.
During Monday night's Board of Education meeting, Director of Human Resources Mark Korell saidstaff will learn about their placement this week and into next week.
"We have met with staff at Field, Pershing, Bode, Truman, Spring Garden, Robidoux, Lafayette, Benton and Central. Individual conversations to kind of gauge where their preferred placement is,” Korell said.
Korell said the next phase will bring groups together — including building principals — to collaborate on placements.
Elementary school placements have been finalized, according to Korell. Those announcements will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
“On Wednesday, we are meeting with Middle school principals to finalize their plans, and hopefully, they make their announcements to the staff on Thursday,” Korell said.
Even with the changes, Korell emphasized that the district will still be hiring. The reorganization will still cause staffing needs across the district.
If staff or faculty aren't happy with their placement for next year, Korell said they can apply for open positions at other school buildings, but doing so won't guarantee a spot at the different school.
