Riverside boys basketball team’s season ends against Heritage Christian in Class 3A Sub-State Semifinals

ELWOOD, Ks. (KQTV) -- The Riverside Cyclones boys basketball team fell in the Class 3A Sub-State Semifinals to Heritage Christian on Tuesday night.

The Chargers took down the home team by a score of 62-49.

Junior Keagan Hughes led Riverside in scoring this evening with 18 points. Not far behind was senior Ty'Zell Harrington with 15 points.

"We played a extremely good basketball team tonight. They had a really good point guard that was controlling the pace of the game, and their two bigs were a lot for us to handle, but I thought our kids played extremely hard and gave them the best effort we could," said Riverside head coach Tyler Herbster. "Seventeen wins this year, and it's probably the most we've had in school history. We did get a lot of sophomores on the court this year. We had a junior that played really well tonight, so we're going to really miss the nine seniors that we had, they've set the tone for our school and our program since the day they walked in."

The Cyclone boys end their 2025-26 season with a 17-8 record.
