VFW receives large donation from local recycling company

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Scrap Management Industries donated a $1000 check to VFW Post 6760 on Friday morning.

The post has been partnering with Scrap Management Industries for years, using them as their primary source of recycling their cans.

"That is the biggest donation that we have ever received as long as I've been the manager," VFW Manager Tony Black said. "Donations like that help tremendously."

The money will help several veterans' needs around the South St. Joseph area.

"We are very proud that Scrap Management Industries can give money to the VFW," Director of Commercial Procurement Matt McCarthy said. "There's no better feeling than veterans helping veterans, and local people in St. Joseph helping local people in St. Joseph."

The VFW looks forward to continuing its partnership with Scrap Management Industries.
