Three Goats players to participate in Olympic Trials

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Three players from the St. Joseph Goats Arena League team will be trying out for Team USA Flag Football this week, according to the team.

The following three players will travel to Chula Vista, Calif., this week to try to make Team USA during team tryouts, Mar. 19-22, for the Summer Olympic Games taking place in Los Angeles in 2028.

• #1 Wide Receiver Boo Smith
• #5 Wide Receiver Ryan Martinez
• #2 Defensiveback/Quarterback Angelo Trujillo

Back in Feb., it was announced that men’s and women’s Flag Football will make its debut at the Olympics in 2028. KQ2 will stay connected with the Goats on if any of their players will also be donning red, white and blue in two years' time.
