ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph City Council postponed the vote on the construction of Hyde Park Pool.

The bill would have approved $4.32 million for the construction of Hyde pool and the pool house at Hyde Park. The project will include a zero-depth entry shallow water activity pool on the site of the former Hyde Pool.

In addition, renovations will provide modernized community rooms, updated concession space and improved staff and operational areas.

Council approved the sidewalk improvements along 22nd Street. The bill will allow the city to hire CM Concrete Inc. to build a new sidewalk along 22nd Street. The project would also include a new ADA-compliant pathway, providing a safe and accessible route for community members.

Additionally, it will improve pedestrian access and create a safer route for students traveling to Spring Garden Middle School. The total project will cost $317,880.

Council also approved the purchase of 45 new golf carts for Fairview Golf Course.

The bill authorized the City to spend $294,295 from the Parks Sales Tax fund to purchase 45 new golf carts for Fairview Golf Course, one beverage cart to sell drinks on the course, and one range cart to pick up golf balls at the driving range.

The current lease of 45 cars from Masek Golf Car Company has expired.

The next City Council meeting will take place on March 30.
