SJPD: Man found dead near railroad tracks

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A man was found dead near the railroad tracks in St. Joseph on Tuesday.

According to St. Joseph Police Department officials, officers responded to the area of S. 22nd Street and Garfield Avenue around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, on reports that a person was found by the railroad tracks.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased man, in his late 50s, by the tracks.

Police officials added that there does not appear to be any foul play and the man was not hit by a train.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
