1 man wounded in shots-fired incident Thursday morning

St. Joseph, Mo. (KQTV) -- One man was injured after a shots-fired incident early Thursday morning on Messanie and 17th Streets.

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, officers performed lifesaving measures on the victim, treated the wound and worked the scene.

The man was eventually taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No information about the suspect has been released yet, but SJPD said the suspect fled the scene.

SJPD said anyone with useful information is encouraged to come forward by calling SJPD to speak with an officer on duty or by calling 911.
