Route 13 to narrow for construction

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is getting ready to start work on Route 13 between Daviess and Caldwell counties beginning Monday, April 13.

While crews are working, Route 13 will be reduced to one lane, meaning access to some city streets and business entrances along the route may be limited or temporarily closed.

MoDOT said it will coordinate with business owners and try to keep disruptions to a minimum by only working on one entrance at a time in each area.

The project is expected to completed up by June 2026.

In addition, crews will also be resurfacing U.S. Route 69 in Clinton County as part of this effort.

MoDOT is reminding drivers to stay safe in work zones—buckle up, put your phone down, slow down and move over when possible.

Before heading out, check current road conditions and work zones at traveler.modot.org.
