ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Arts Academy hosted Kids Make Music Day Saturday afternoon.

The school opened their doors at 1 p.m. and welcomed their regular families, as well as children who wanted to give music a try to an open house on the property.

Some of the attractions at the event were the instrument petting zoo, snack and drink options, an arts and crafts table, and a raffle that parents could sign up for when they walked through the door.

Director of the academy, Jason Riley was extremely excited and happy to be able to give this opportunity to families who arrived at the event.

"We welcome our current families and folks who might be interested in trying something new," Riley said. "Not every kid is interested in soccer, or math, or whatever. Music is for everybody."

The business is located on 2027 North 36th street in St. Joseph.
