CLINTON COUNTY, Mo (KQTV) -- Clinton County residents reported that several storm sirens were not sounding during the storms that occurred in the area early Monday morning.

Following the storms, Clinton County Sheriff AJ Carrel and Emergency Management Director Blair Shock released a joint statement.

"Public safety is our absolute priority," said Carrel. "We are taking every step necessary to ensure our infrastructure stands up to the elements, not just during a test, but when it matters most."

Shock and the Emergency Management team have found the technical malfunctions that caused the lack of sirens, and have taken care of the issue.

All county-operated storm sirens are said to be back and fully operational.

Residents of Clinton County are encouraged to have multiple ways to receive alerts during storms.

Ways to receive these alerts include NOAA Weather Radios and smartphone emergency notifications.
