Platte County Sheriff’s Office investigates homicide

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Platte County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide at a residence near the 8700 block of NW Hillview Road Circle.

Law enforcement responded at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, to a reported domestic disturbance.

When deputies arrived, a 36-year-old man was found dead with gunshot wounds. Other occupants in the residence appeared to be unharmed.

A 57-year-old man, who was an occupant of the residence, was initially taken into custody and transported to the Platte County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour investigative hold.

The Platte County Sheriff said the incident is still under investigation.

The name of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification to next of kin, as well as the man who was arrested.
