Renaissance Festival returns to St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- The Bluffwoods Renaissance Festival has arrived at the Castle Bridge Event Center for the final weekend in May.

The festival is open to all who wish to step back to medieval times without modern technology.

Patrons are able to partake in several activities such as shooting targets with arrows, petting zoos, and even watching joust competitions.

"The renaissances are very fun, they're unique," Festival Merchant Rod McFarland said. "People can be themselves for a weekend, and everyone has fun."

To any who are worried about the potential weather raining out the festival, the festivities will continue for the weekend.

Travelers can still participate in all the festival activities whether there is mud on the ground or not.

"For most renaissance festivals that I've been to, I know that there's not such a thing as a rain delay," Louis Storm said. "Nothing is going to stop anybody from having a good time."

The Festival will continue on Sunday at 10 a.m., and close it's doors for the weekend at 6 p.m.
