Downtown comes together for Putt Putt Crawl to benefit local organization

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Downtown St. Joseph is always looking for ways to show off its beauty and help one another; that's just what led to Saturday's unique crawl event to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters St. Joseph.

The event was organized by The Den and Tee'd Up; it featured over 18 holes at different shops, bars, and more in downtown St. Joseph. Registration was $40 for teams of up to four players, who were allowed to enjoy drinks, snacks, or other goodies at each stop.

The Den owner, Adrienne Waggoner, was overseeing a stop at her new restaurant, Revl & Co, which will open soon in downtown St. Joseph and is located at the former Angry Swede location. For Waggoner, who has organized many downtown events, she wanted to introduce another idea that would include more places that otherwise wouldn't be able to participate.

"There are some businesses that either can't or won't have alcohol on their premises. And we haven't ever done anything that's really targeted towards family-friendly," Waggoner shared. "So we decided, but that sounds like a lot of fun places that want to have drinks can, but then we could allow that to be in any space."

Totals are yet to be determined; however, she shares that contributions to Big Brothers Big Sisters came not only from registration sign-ups but also from stops making their own contributions.
