United Way announces dates, seeks volunteers for annual ‘STUFF THE BUS!’ drive

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- United Way of Greater St. Joseph announced dates for its annual STUFF THE BUS! School Supplies Drive.

The drive, presented by Mosaic Life Care, will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, and from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at both the North Belt Walmart, located at 4201 North Belt Highway, and the South Belt Walmart, located at 3022 South Belt Highway.

Volunteers are needed to collect donated and new school supplies for distribution through United Way Partner Agencies and Programs, including The Salvation Army.

Donors are needed to purchase new school supply items and donate to United Way STUFF THE BUS!

United Way said it needs binders, backpacks, markers, crayons, scissors and construction paper, among other items.

United Way said it has collected and distributed more than 331,000 school supply items to area children, classrooms and programs since 2009.
