SAVANNAH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Savannah Police Department said it is seeking evidence of a Mountain Lion sighting within city limits after receiving a call about a sighting.

The Department said it has not confirmed the animal sighting or received videos of the animal yet.

In a Facebook post, the police department said citizens who obtain videos of the animal are encouraged to reach out to the Andrew County Sheriff's Office so they can dispatch an officer to review it.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, the last time a Mountain Lion was seen in Andrew County was on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.

A Mountain Lion was struck by a vehicle and died on the scene.

It wasn't long before the aforementioned incident when a Mountain Lion was seen in both Andrew and Buchanan counties in mid-September of 2025.
