City announces annual Fourth of July fireworks show

File

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The City of St. Joseph will once again host its annual Fourth of July fireworks show.

Similar to recent years, fireworks will be launched from a spot on North Point Drive near the St. Joseph YMCA.

The show is set to start 15 minutes after dark, roughly planned to be about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, and will last 15 to 20 minutes.

Premier Pyrotechnics is the display provider.

The City said the recommended viewing area for members of the public is the parking lots at the Shoppes of North Village, Kohl's and the Regal Hollywood Theater.

Some areas around the launch site will be closed for the safety of both spectators and those launching the fireworks.

Interested viewers are encouraged to stay out of the roped-off or barricaded areas. The show will not proceed if a viewer is within the restricted areas.

Viewers are also reminded to leave their personal fireworks at home for the safety of those around them. Spectators should also leave plenty of room for others to park and plan to take any trash with them.
