Westlake Ace Hardware customers donate 54 fans to residents trying to beat the heat this summer

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Over the last several weeks, Westlake Ace Hardware customers rounded up their purchases to support residents in need of a way to cool off this summer.

The store raised $865 in donations and will provide 54 box fans for distribution to The Salvation Army.

The fans will help seniors, families in need and other residents stay cool over the summer.

The Ace retail group has provided more than 78,000 fans to Salvation Army locations across the country.

Residents needing assistance are encouraged to contact The Salvation Army, located at 602 Messanie St., at 816-232-5824 for availability and distribution information.

Residents can also visit The Salvation Army from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and will need to bring a photo ID and proof of residency.
