1 man dead after police respond to shooting at Penn Street

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- One man is dead after the St. Joseph Police Department said it responded to a report of a shooting early Thursday morning.

Police responded to the call at 12:45 a.m. in the 2900 block of Penn Street.

A man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment. He was later pronounced deceased due to his injuries.

SJPD said no other injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made at this time.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information is being released at this time.

SJPD is calling the incident a homicide.
