Firefighters respond to early morning fire on North 12th Street

Fire trucks over at the 2900 block of north 12th street

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- Fire crews responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning, July 7th in the 2900 block of North 12th Street. 

The fire involved a mobile home, with firefighters arriving on scene around 4 a.m.

Crews were able to quickly contain the blaze. 

SJFD said no one was inside the home when the fire started. However, a dog was unable to escape and died in the fire. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
