KCI sets record for outbound travel

KCI

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Kansas City International Airport (KCI/MCI) set a record Sunday, with its busiest outbound travel day in airport history.

Approximately 24,266 travelers went through security screening on Sunday, marking the first time the airport has exceeded 24,000 travelers.

KCI said travelers had an average wait time of two and a half minutes to reach the screening checkpoint, something that could not have been accomplished without the coordination of the airport's screening contractor, VMD, and TSA.
