Get to know: Chris Stigall, Republican Primary Candidate for U.S. Representative District 6

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Chris Stigall, a husband, father and longtime media personality, is hoping to be the next U.S. Representative for District 6 from Missouri.

"When I started this run, it was because, at present, there is no Missouri member in the entire state on the House Agriculture Committee, and for being such a major ag state," Stigall said. "Particularly in the 6th Congressional District, which is most of our economy. Missouri really deserves a representative, and I'd be excited, frankly, to be the lone member."

Some of the main issues he would like to address if elected to Congress are protecting the Second Amendment, reducing red tape around rural healthcare and defending the pro-life movement.

"I've been in talk radio talking about issues that matter to me, certainly in our audience and most of Missouri and now over the last couple of years in national syndication across the country," Stigall shared. "I have had the privilege of talking with a whole lot of not just constituents and voters and concerned citizens, but also a lot of different members of Congress, including the President of the United States."

Stigall said he is a proud supporter of President Donald Trump. He believes that the president is steering in the right direction on many different topics and looks to do what he can to help communicate the president's directives if elected to Washington.

“I feel that the Republican Party right now could benefit from some help with messaging in particular. That's something that I believe I can bring to the table right away. Plus, conservatism that I've studied and the issues that I know well, so I think that's a great one-two punch to bring home for North Missouri,” Stigall said.

Stigall is up against Cody Oshel, Nathanael Schultz, Nathan Willet and Jim Ingram in the Republican Primary for this congressional spot on Aug. 4.
