VIDEO: Wrestling History: The Zbyszko Brothers’ Impact

SAVANNAH, Mo. (KQTV) -- KQ2's Darren Doyle sits down with the Director of the Andrew County Museum, Katie Fields, to talk about two pioneers of wrestling, Stanislaw and Władek Zbyszko.

They cover the brothers' connection to Andrew County and their role in training one of professional wrestling's most recognizable names, Harley Race.

Eventually known as Stanley and Wally, the two brothers moved to a farm just outside of Savannah. Quitman-born Harley Race, who aspired to become a professional wrestler, eventually heard about the duo and traded farm work for wrestling lessons.

The brothers were also credited with training Johnny Valentine, the father of eventual professional wrestler Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

Stanley was buried in Maine after his death with his wife. Wally is buried in the Savannah Cemetery in Savannah, Missouri.
