Wathena Fall Festival draws in crowds, celebrates America’s 250th anniversary

WATHENA, Ks. (KQTV) -- The Wathena Fall Festival entered its second day on Saturday, bringing in families from near and far despite the heat.

The scorching day wasn't a deterrent for attendees, who enjoyed an evening of festivities for Labor Day weekend, including fair rides, local shops, and live entertainment.

While the heat was a big story, another highlight was this year's theme, "Let Freedom Ring," continuing celebrations for America's 250th birthday.

Red, white, and blue surrounded downtown Wathena as the community honored the nation's milestone.

Although the festival is set in Wathena, it attracts visitors from all across the area, who got to spend time with friends and family.

The Wathena Fall Festival will continue tomorrow with another full day of activities.
