VIDEO: Savannah Savages honor area teen as an honorary football team captain

SAVANNAH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Sometimes, football is about so much more than the game itself, as the Savannah football team celebrated 13-year-old Hunter’s birthday tonight by making him a team captain for their homecoming game against Christ Prep.

Hunter was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and is recovering from two surgeries.

Caylor Schrick, Kaiden Phillips and Chase Bell wanted to make Hunter’s night extra special. They invited him to help Coach Schrick during pregame and lead the team as a captain.
