MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) – The Nodaway County Cattlemen’s Association will host a free farm and business succession planning seminar.

A complimentary dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by the presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, at the Ag Learning Center in Maryville, Missouri.

The event is open to the public, and no pre-registration is required.

The seminar features guest speaker Wesley Tucker from the University of Missouri Extension, a specialist recognized for helping agricultural families navigate the operational, financial and relational challenges of succession planning.

The session aims to help farm families and local business owners with practical guidance for transitioning their operations to the next generation.

“Planning for the next generation is one of the most critical decisions a family farm or business will ever make, but it is also one of the easiest to postpone because it can feel overwhelming,” said Joseph Frueh, president of the Nodaway County Cattlemen’s Association. “Our goal with this event is to give producers clear, realistic tools to begin those conversations early. Whether you are looking at retirement in two years or twenty, having a plan in place protects both the family and the enterprise.”
