Local Hip Hop artist Blade Lake brings ‘Why Not Tour’ to St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A local hip hop artist is going on tour in St. Joseph, performing at The Luxe Club on King Hill Avenue.

Blade Lake has been writing music since he was 13 and performing in Saint Joe since 2019.

He says his "Why Not Tour" goes beyond the stage.

He wants to build up the local hip-hop scene and give up-and-coming artists a real opportunity, inspired by the legacy of Eminem, by giving up-and-coming acts the same opportunity. He says music sometimes keeps young artists out of trouble.

His sound is a mix of pop and hip-hop, which he says is built to bring people together.

Music, he says, has always been his outlet.

"I never really had an outlet to talk about my feelings or anything. And that's where it really started," Lake said. "Over these last few years, I'm kind of just doing what I like. If I like a sound and I haven't heard enough of it, maybe I might dive into it. But yeah, I just like to get everything off my chest through music."

The show is at The Luxe on King Hill.

Tickets are $10 in advance through any artist on the flyer, $13 online, or $15 at the door.
