Andrew County Sheriff’s Office warns of flooded roadways

Darren Doyle | KQ2

ANDREW COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Andrew County Sheriff's Office is urging drivers to be safe as reports of water on certain roadways come in.

Heavy rainfall is causing flooding on roadways throughout the county.

The Sheriff's Office said it has received reports of flooding on:

  • State Route B near Bolckow
  • State Route C near Rosendale
  • Highway 48 near Rosendale

According to the Sheriff's Office, the Missouri Department of Transportation is responding to the areas to place warning signs and barricades.

Drivers are reminded to "turn around, don't drown," and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

"Please use extra caution while traveling and allow yourself additional time to reach your destination," Andrew County Sheriff Grant Gillett said.

Drivers who encounter a roadway with water over it and no warning signs or barricades in place are asked to report it to local law enforcement so the appropriate response can be made.
