MISSOURI (KQTV) -- Missouri voters decided against Amendment 3, a measure to prohibit abortions past a certain gestation and transgender services to minors.

The measure would have repealed the 2024 voter-approved Amendment.

Amendment 3 would allow abortions for rape or incest under 12 weeks' gestation, emergencies and fetal anomalies; allow legislation regulating abortion and ensure parental consent for minors' abortion.

Additionally, the Amendment would prohibit gender transition surgeries, cross-sex hormones and puberty-blocking drugs for minors, with an exception for treatments unrelated to gender transition.

Buchanan County voters, overall, voted not to repeal the 2024 voter-approved Amendment. A total of 52%, or 12,724 of the 46.6% registered Buchanan County voters, selected "no", while 48%, or 11,745 voters, selected "yes".
