Elwood police, US Marshals, Drug Strike Force arrest ‘violent offender’ at Capri Motel

ELWOOD, Kan. (KQTV) -- The City of Elwood, Kansas, acknowledged several law enforcement agencies following the arrest of a "violent offender" at the Capri Motel Thursday.

The Elwood Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshals Service and Drug Strike Force with the service of an arrest warrant Thursday, Sept. 24.

According to a news release on Facebook, the "violent offender" was staying at the Capri Motel in Elwood.

During the operation, Anthony Wayne Boydston Jr., 50, was located and taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

The city said all persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by the court of law.

Boydston is currently being held in the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail. The warrant was issued after Boydston failed to appear in court for resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony he allegedly committed in 2022, according to court documents.

A criminal hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 at the DeKalb County Courthouse.
