Run for Radio benefitting KXCV-KRNW returns

5KXCV-KRNW Run for Radio 2026

MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) -- The anytime, anywhere fundraiser to benefit the radio station serving Maryville and Chillicothe is set to return for its seventh year.

The 5KXCV-KRNW Run for Radio is a benefit that allows participants to sign up online and run or walk the race length whenever and wherever they choose. Sign-up fees from the race go towards supporting the stations that serve the Northwest Missouri area.

The studio for the stations is located on the Campus of Northwest Missouri State University, which is why keeping them up and running is something important to Northwest students and station Social Media assistant Kiera Timms.

"I grew up listening to the radio all the time, and I find it super interesting being able to see how it kind of pieces together and get that first-hand experience with radio," Timms shared. "A lot of our stations are run by the students. The stories are written by the students. It is mostly student-run, which I think is super unique, especially for our campus."

The race runs April 11-25, and sign-up fees are $20 for Northwest Students and $25 for non-students. Participants are encouraged to track their times and post them along with a selfie, tagging KXCV-KRNW's social media accounts.

Selfies, results, and videos can also be sent to hstaggs@nwmissouri.edu. For more information on how to sign up for the race to support local radio, click here.
