Law enforcement agencies combine efforts to conduct a targeted operation, arrest 21 individuals

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A targeted operation in Buchanan County led to the arrests of 21 individuals.

On Friday, July 24, an operation was led by the Buchanan County Sheriff's Office Drug Strike Force and Career Criminal Unit.

They were working in tandem with the St. Joseph Police Department Street Crimes Unit, U.S. Marshals Service, Northwest Missouri Drug Task Force and Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the officers cleared 21 felony arrest warrants and made new arrests for possession of controlled substances. Officers also seized eight firearms and body armor.

The investigation is still ongoing. The investigators are still preparing cases for review and determining whether to file new or additional criminal charges.
