4 injured in DeKalb County crash

DEKALB COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Four people suffered various injuries in a crash along eastbound U.S. Highway 36 Friday evening.

A 46-year-old female driver of a 2025 Mazda CX90 SUV from Stewartsville, Missouri, was seriously injured. A 17-year-old female passenger in the car, also from Stewartsville, suffered minor injuries.

A 46-year-old male driver of a 2025 Nissan Altima from Florissant, Missouri, suffered moderate injuries. A 16-year-old male passenger, also from Florissant, suffered moderate injuries.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of eastbound U.S. 36 and Missouri Route M, just one mile north of Osborn, Missouri.

The Mazda was northbound on Route M and stopped at the posted stop sign, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The Nissan was eastbound on U.S. 36; however, the Mazda failed to observe the Nissan approaching and pulled into its path.

Both the Mazda and the Nissan traveled off the north side of eastbound U.S. 36. Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels, with the Mazda facing east and the Nissan facing west.

All parties involved were wearing seatbelts. The females were transported by Clinton County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care. The males were transported by DeKalb-Clinton Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care.
