1 dead, 2 seriously injured following vehicle collision in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A 43-year-old man is dead and another man and a woman are seriously injured after two vehicles collided near Jamesport Tuesday morning.

The 43-year-old man was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry and a 77-year-old man with a 75-year-old female passenger was driving a 2024 Ford F250.

The crash happened around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, at Missouri Route 190 and Route P, just three miles north of Jamesport, Missouri.

The crash occurred as the Toyota was eastbound on Route P, approaching the intersection of Route 190, while the Ford was northbound on Route 190.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the Toyota failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled into the path of the oncoming Ford.

The front of the Ford collided with the right side of the Toyota. The Toyota came to rest on northbound Route 190 on its wheels. The Ford traveled off the northeast corner of the intersection and overturned, coming to rest in a field on its top.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:40 a.m. He was transported by Stith Funeral Home to the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office.

The 77- and 75-year-olds were transported by Life-Flight to North Kansas City Hospital.

The 43-year-old and the 77-year-old men were not wearing seat belts, but the 75-year-old was.
