ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) — The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce’s Donut Dash race is coming in full swing.

The race will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, along the historic streets of St. Joseph.

More than 500 runners and walkers are registered, which is a record number of participants compared to previous years.

Instead of the usual 5K race, the trail is actually 3.82 miles.

Shuttles will take runners back to the starting point.

The race is timed, with runners being given timing tags to attach to their shoes.

The race starts at the Patee House Museum, located at 1202 Penn St. and ends at Gold-N-Glaze Donuts & Coffee Shop, off of Frederick Avenue. Afterward, participants are invited to have brunch at the after-party at Hi-Ho Bar & Grill next door.

Perfect for an October morning, the race goes through historic Mount Mora Cemetery so runners can enjoy seeing the impressive mausoleums.

The route also features Robidoux Row Museum. During the family-friendly 5K+, participants can stop at designated watering holes to take a quick drink and enjoy the famous Gold-N-Glaze donut holes.

Proceeds of the race benefit Mount Mora, Robidoux Row and Patee House.
