ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) Lafayette High School's class of 2026 graduated at the Civic Arena on Sunday afternoon.

This high school class marks the final graduating class in the schools history, as the Lafayette will become a middle school starting in the fall semester of 2026.

The remaining students from Lafayette High School will be transferred to other schools in the district.

But despite the school no longer being a high school, the students have acknowledged the family dynamic that the school has given them.

"It's kinda bittersweet, it's nice to know that you're the last class, and I feel like we're a really good class and we've done our part for Lafayette high school," Graduating senior Jakobee Barnett said.

The Northside community showed their support by rallying together and celebrating the class and their graduating achievement.
