KCPD investigating late-night homicide in Westport Road business

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMBC) — A man is dead, and another is injured after Kansas City, Missouri, police officers responded to a shots-fired call Saturday night.

A KCPD spokesperson said it was just after 11:30 p.m. when officers were sent to a reported shooting on Westport Road near Holly Street.

When officers got there, the KCPD said they found two men inside a QuikTrip who had been shot.

One of the men died at the scene; the other was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

KCPD detectives have collected evidence and talked to witnesses. There is no one in custody.
