St. Joseph Goats football team rocks Ozarks in the team’s home opener

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The St. Joseph Goats Arena League indoor football team had its first home game of the season Saturday night at the Civic Arena. The Goats rolled to a 77-38 victory over the Ozarks Lunkers to start the season 2-0.

Quarterback Anthony Trujillo filled the first half with five touchdown passes. Two of them went to Dominique Marshall, two were caught by Boo Smith and one went to Malik Wilson on a one-handed insane grab for St. Joseph's first touchdown of the day.

The Goats' defense made a ton of plays as well. Defensive back Joe Weathersby had 2 fumble recoveries for touchdowns in the second quarter as St. Joseph went into the halftime break leading 50-24. The team was able to cruise to a win from there.

The Goats next play on the road at the Iowa Woo on Saturday, June 13th at 8 pm.
